Prepare for the next # social media trend; the Barbie challenge. My buddy took his daughters to the opening night of Barbie locally. In addition to it being a horrible film, he said "You wouldn't believe all the fools that dressed up in character for this thing." It got me to thinking, Dressed up as dolls eh? And then sure enough! Literally hundreds of them. Now if we could just get Margot Robbie in a 'Mannequin' remake.

It's interesting to see the amount of detail (or lack there of) that each location put into their display boxes. Some look professionally built and include Barbie accessories, while others were merely a generic backdrop that you just stand in front of. The premier in London had a massive pink carpet with several backdrops and numerous starlets showed up in costume.

I haven't seen this level of enthusiasm since The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the 70's. As a kid, I remember our babysitter dressing up as Magenta and again as Columbia. It turned into a late night cult classic and quite the happening, with attendees dressing up in character and shouting out lines at the movie screen.
